STARS DONATE TO YORKSHIRE CHARITY EVENT ONLINE PUBLIC AUCTION IN BID TO BREAK £2M FUNDRAISING BARRIER
Sir Richard Branson, Daniel Craig, Aled Jones, Duran Duran and Sir Alex Ferguson are among the celebrities offering personalised prizes.
Huge names from the world of entertainment, business, sport and beyond have united to donate a spectacular collection of exclusive items and once-in-a-lifetime auction prize opportunities for upcoming charity event, The Firecracker Ball, in support of Barnardo’s.
Two lucky bidders will have the chance to visit Necker Island for a week, Sir Richard Branson's private island paradise, whilst sport fans will have an array of prizes to bid for including signed memorabilia donated by Sir Alex Ferguson and a fantastic 5 night break to Singapore, with VIP Grand Prix F1 access. This incredible prize offers 2 lucky bidders, airport transfer and 5 nights located on track at the fantastic Fairmont Hotel in a premier room (bed & breakfast).
Music fans will have a chance to bid for concert tickets and signed memorabilia from the likes of Duran Duran and The Prodigy. Aled Jones MBE is also supporting the auction by offering four people to meet him before he performs at the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Concert with special guest Laura Wright on Sunday 20th December, at Harrogate International Centre. The winners will also be given tickets for the show.
Fans of James Bond have the opportunity to bid on a huge range of goodies including signed Roger Moore books and a Spectre special edition champagne designed by 007 himself, Daniel Craig. Bottles were only given to crew as a wrap gift and can’t be bought. This, together with a copy of the April 2015 Empire magazine, signed by Daniel who features on the front cover and inside, makes this a very special auction lot.
Also up for grabs is a t-shirt, signed and donated by One Direction, tickets to London Fashion Week and a dress by renowned fashion designer Ben De Lisi. There will be unique memorabilia from Dame Helen Mirren, as well as a VIP trip to Royal Ascot, exclusive ski holidays, a private dance lesson with Strictly’s Erin Boag and Wimbledon ladies quarter final tickets, plus lots more.
All funds will be donated to Barnardo’s in Yorkshire, who each year help almost 14,000 children, young people and their families in over 80 specialised projects in local communities. Since 2002 The Firecracker Ball has donated almost 1.7 million pounds and this year is aiming to reach a target of £2m.
Kirsty Guy, relationship manager, from Barnardo’s said: “This significant achievement has changed the lives of thousands of children and young people in Yorkshire, helping the most vulnerable children overcome their problems and transform their lives.”
“We would like to thank everyone who has helped by donating a prize, our sponsors for their support of the event, those who have bought a ticket or will be bidding in the auction. Without them we couldn’t help Barnardo’s change lives.”
The online auction is open to everyone and now live. It will close at 16:00 on the day of The Firecracker Ball taking place at Rudding Park, on Saturday 14th November and bids will then be transferred to the evening’s live auction. All online bidders, including those not attending the event, will have the option to enter a maximum bid.
